The Millennium Series just finished their Bitburg event, but they are already gearing up for the London Masters, taking place along side the river Thames which is also hosting the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Summer Olympics and the BBC Proms. Needless to say, the city is quite busy this summer.

The big news from across the pond is the releasing of the London layout (shown below) and that Lisbon Benfica player Hugo Domingues will be banned for the rest of the season, plus eight more to come. The league does state that after five years have passed he may appeal the decision, but this banning means that Domingues will not be able to even touch a tournament field as a player, or spectate, or be a staff member, or vendor.

Below is a prepared statement from the Millennium Series on the incident, a list of suspended players from the Bitburg event and the London Masters field layout, plus a video teaser from our European Media Partners at VideoArt.

To protect our customers and staff from further deliberate and malicious assaults by player Domingues, the Millennium Series has decided to ban him for 8 years from all tournaments, starting in calendar year 2013.

For 8 years he will not be allowed onto tournament grounds in any capacity, not as player, not as spectator nor as staff of a vendor. After 5 years, player Domingues may appeal for review of his case. The Millennium Series will also inform EPBF to take appropriate action. German law enforcement agencies are investigating the case as well and the Millennium Series will fully cooperate with them.
