With a long season ahead, what are your plans to prep for more victories?

Damian: Honestly, overall this event I would rank our team on a 7 out of 10 on performance. I don’t feel we played great as a unit or anyone having played AMAZING as an individual. People had their great games, clutch points, big moves at right times etc., but when we fire on all pistons, I would watch out. We did a good job of shooting people off the break, communicating, and working as a team in the finals match and it worked out in our favor. The season is a never-ending grind. Everyone has to be mentally and physically prepared to put together a season that’s capable of winning a series championship. One bad event and your chances are blown. I think everyone is in a good place mentally for this year and to just play as much paintball as possible. Everyone has put in extra effort on their own, lots of 1v1’s, drills outback of the Kee Office, etc. to stay sharp when the team can’t get together for a full team practice.

Brad: This win was big for us, but it’s over and done with. It means nothing the minute it’s over. It’s hard to win an event at this level and even harder to win consistently. We have the target on our backs now and we have to train even harder now to defend our title. We don’t do this to be the best at one event; we do this to win series championships. We know we can compete with anyone in this league and we intend to be at the top all year long.

Zack Wake also chimes in about expectations for the season –

Zack: It was an amazing win as well as a great start to the season but that being said, it’s just a start! We have to come out at MAO with the same mentality and work even harder than we did for this one. Winning one tournament is hard, winning multiple is even harder, and winning a championship… that’s the hardest thing to do in this sport! We can’t let this get to our heads. We need to stay humble and focused on the
big picture and that is winning the PSP series title! Without that, the season is a bust!

So those beards are a starring role on this team, will they be the good luck charm for the next event too?

Damian: We can only hope so. I would hope that the beards are going to be a good luck charm, because personally I like not having to shave it. I like to think it’s like the scene in Little Giants when they pop Alka-Seltzers and “INTIMIDATE” the other team, except ours make us look like a bunch of parolees you don’t want to mess with. #FEARTHEBEARD #LEGIONOFBEARD

Other than the PSP league, the boys are participating in other leagues and have big plans for the year:

Damian: On top of playing with Infamous this year Kali, Nicky, Wake and myself will be joining up with a newly acquired Empire team out of Spain called FiveStar. I’ll also be traveling to my field DES MOINES PAINTBAL PARK (Check it out on FB) every free weekend to help grow the sport and put Iowa paintball back on the map. Top that off with a few more trips to Asia, Australia, Living Legends at CPX, Skirmish, Wayne’s World and whatever other trouble I can get myself into – it’s a pretty busy season. I would like to give a shout out to Empire Paintball for providing us with the best equipment and paint in the game, Ultra Evil. Last but not least, my mom for always supporting me and allowing me to follow my dream of playing professional paintball, even though I’m her 2nd favorite child. Love you mom.

Brad: 2014 is panning out to be an exciting year for us. Many of us will be playing with Empire sponsored teams in the Millennium Series. Bobby and I will be playing with Hellwood Paris for both that and the EPBF Series in France all year with Drew possibly making an appearance. Along with that, we will all be playing as much paintball as possible with some of us hosting clinics and playing various events all over the world. Stay tuned!

Stamped onto the leaderboard, Infamous resuscitates their strength as a team and the remainder of the Pro division will be hungrier than ever at the next upcoming event, MAO.

Who are you rooting for?
